Giving to Key

The Key School depends on charitable gifts to sustain its strong academic curriculum, enhance its teaching facilities and strengthen its financial resources.

The cost of an independent school education is such that tuition and fees do not cover the total cost of educating each student. Tuition funding covers 90% of the cost of a Key School education. As is the case with many other schools, our advancement efforts are designed to solicit charitable gifts to support the actual cost of operating an independent school.

Parents, faculty and staff, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, and friends are asked each year to contribute to the Annual Fund. It is one of the most important gifts a donor can make to the School because it ensures quality education. Gifts may be designated to a program or campus priority through the Family of Annual Funds.

One of The Key School’s highest fundraising priorities is the growth of its Endowment. As the School’s investment fund, the Endowment is a safety net for the future. Its strength ensures the School’s long-term well-being by supporting Teaching and Learning, Financial Aid, Professional Development and Faculty Compensation, and Facilities. Over time, it can enable the School to moderate tuition increases and guard against unforeseen financial challenges.

The Advancement Office Staff coordinates all fundraising activities. Contributions to the School are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
